What is doula?

Doula is a Greek word meaning ‘woman- servant’. Today a doula is a guardian for women being pregnant, in labor or after that. Qualified doula is able to give emotional, information and physical support to the family. The doula is not a replacement for a medical staff, but she complements their action of peace, intimate element, warmth.
